Jonathan Groff Says He 'Had No Idea' People Thought His 'Mindhunter' Character Is Sociopath
Jonathan Groff happily poses with his Mindhunter co-stars Anna Torv, Holt McCallany and Cameron Britton during Day Two of the 2018 Vulture Festival presented By AT&T at Milk Studios on Sunday (May 20) in New York City.
“Everyone has said to me after they watch the show, that they thought the character was a sociopath,” Jonathan, 33, told the audience (via Vulture). “And I had no idea! No idea.”
“So many of my friends were texted me, saying ‘Okay, so when are you gonna start killing people?’,” Jonathan added. “I think the thing that they are aligning with… that I think is very similar, that we start to see more and more in our characters is this characteristic of narcissism and becoming self obsessed.”
Also in attendance at day two of the festival was Ava DuVernay, Johnny Knoxville, Ray Donovan‘s Jon Voight, Liev Schreiber, writer David Hollander, Susan Sarandon and Eddie Marsan, as well as Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson and Gillian Jacobs of Netflix’s Ibiza.
