An 'Easy A' Spinoff Is in the Works!

There’s an Easy A spinoff coming!

Screen Gems has recruited Bert Royal, who wrote the script of the Emma Stone-led 2010 comedy, to write and direct the upcoming spinoff, Variety confirmed on Thursday (June 20).

The film, which is still in early development, will also be Bert‘s directorial debut. Zanne Devine will return to executive produce the project.

According to the report, the spinoff will “be set at the same high school and will explore many of the same themes as the original Easy A.”

However, Emma is “unlikely to return for the follow-up, as the forthcoming installment will focus on a new group of students and teachers.”
