Awkwafina Could Bring This Character To Life in 'The Little Mermaid'

Awkwafina could be bringing Scuttle to life in the live action version of The Little Mermaid!

According to THR, the Crazy Rich Asians star is in the running to bring the seagull friend of Ariel to life in the movie.

Meanwhile, Jacob Tremblay is also in talks to play Flounder, the fish friend of Ariel.

As we all know, the original animated movie, which is based on Hans Christian Andersen‘s story, centers on Ariel who yearns to be human after she falls in love with a prince. Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, who grants her wish but takes her voice.

There are also talks with Melissa McCarthy to play Ursula, but singer Lizzo also wants a shot at the villainous role.
