Missy Elliott Pays Tribute to Aaliyah on 18th Anniversary of Death

Missy Elliott is honoring Aaliyah 18 years after her death.

The 48-year-old “Throw It Back” rapper took to Twitter on Sunday (August 25) to post a photo of the late singer along with a heartfelt message.

“Aaliyah it’s been 18 years now but your STYLE & MUSIC still continues to IMPACT all the generations behind you! 🙌🏾,” Missy wrote. “May you rest In paradise in PEACE🙏🏾😇❤️.”

“You will NEVER be forgotten so MANY LOVE you Babygirl🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾,” Missy Elliott added. “WE ALL MISS YOU!❤️❤️”

Aaliyah passed away on August 25, 2001, at age 22 in a plane crash.
