Mark-Paul Gosselaar Reacts to News of 'Saved By the Bell' Reboot: 'I Haven't Been Approached'

Mark-Paul Gosselaar found out just like everyone else about the upcoming Saved By the Bell reboot!

The 45-year-old actor, who played Zack Morris on the hit show, revealed that he has not been contacted about the newly announced revival on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.

“I haven’t been approached, so I’m not involved at the moment,” he revealed to E! on the red carpet.

In the new Saved By the Bell, Governor Zack Morris gets in hot water for closing too many low-income schools. To combat the bad press, he orders California start bringing affected students to the highest performing schools, including Bayside High.

Mark-Paul isn’t sure about his role’s inclusion in the plot.

“I find that odd too ‘cause when I read that I thought, ‘Huh, I’m on mixed-ish,” he went on to say.

“I said, ‘You know this isn’t Mario Lopez that you just texted,’” he said he said to a friend who alerted him via text message of the show’s revival.

However, he did say he’d return if the timing is right.
