Demi Moore Was Raped at 15 By a Man Who Paid Her Mom

Demi Moore is opening up like never before about her devastating childhood, including how she was raped at 15 by a man who paid her mom $500.

The 56-year-old actress wrote about the life-altering moment in her new memoir and she also talked to Diane Sawyer about it in a new interview.

“[Demi was] taken by her mother to bars, so that men will notice them. She’s 15 when she comes home one night and an older man they know is in the apartment with the key,” Diane says in the voiceover during the piece. “She writes, ‘It was rape and a devastating betrayal,’ revealed by the man’s cruel question, ‘How does it feel to be whored by your mother for $500?’”

Diane asked Demi if she felt her mom had sold her to the man.

“I think, in my deep heart, no. I don’t think it was a straightforward transaction,” Demi said. “But she still did give him the access. And put me in harm’s way.”
