Jenna Dewan Reveals How She Got Over the Heartbreak of Channing Tatum Divorce

Jenna Dewan is all smiles while leaving her appearance on Good Morning America to promote her new book “Gracefully You: Finding Beauty and Balance in the Everyday” on Tuesday (October 22) in New York City.

The 38-year-old entertainer and actress – who is currently expecting a baby with boyfriend Steve Kazee – wrote all about her split with Channing Tatum and how she got over the heartbreak.

“One of the many ways I holistically coped with my heartbreak and stress was with holy basil,” Jenna wrote (via Page Six) “Many people take a holy basil supplement, while others drink it as a tea.”

“For me, holy basil was wonderful,” she continued. “One thing I wasn’t about to do during my heart-break was abandon the things that make me feel good, which includes maintaining a clean, delicious diet.”

“Here’s the honest truth about my breakup,” she wrote. “Yes, I carried a rose quartz in my bra and yes, I took herbal supplements to help me heal, but also my mom flew in to be by my side and I called my friends late at night to sob in their ears.”

“The truth is, there was so much craziness going on in my personal life when I started filming the second season of ‘World of Dance.’ Channing and I had separated the night before my first day of filming, but nobody besides my best friend, Emmanuelle, and my mother knew,” she continued. “I kept it a secret from everyone at work because I needed to focus on my work when at work. I couldn’t let everything fall apart.”

“The public saw Channing and me in this idealized, romanticized light,” Jenna added of the hardship. “This made things difficult for me, because I like being as honest and real as I can.”

“At the end of the day I just kept telling myself to trust, trust, trust. And trust I did,” she concluded. “The news of our divorce didn’t drown me. Not to any extent I couldn’t handle, anyway. When I was ready, I started dating someone amazing … Lo and behold, everything started flowing together.”
