Henry Cavill Was Told He Looked 'Chubby' During James Bond Audition

Henry Cavill was told he looked “a little chubby” while auditioning for the role of James Bond.

The 36-year-old The Witcher actor tried out for the part of 007 in the mid-2000s.

“I probably could have prepared better,” he told Men’s Health about the audition, during which he had to walk out of the bathroom in a towel. “I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, ‘Looking a little chubby there, Henry.’”

“I didn’t know how to train or diet,” Henry added. “And I’m glad Martin said something, because I respond well to truth. It helps me get better.”

Henry Cavill ended up losing the role to to Daniel Craig, but then went on to play Superman, so it’s OK.
