Josh Gordon Suspended Indefinitely by NFL for Substance Abuse & PEDs

Josh Gordon has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

The 28-year-old wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, nicknamed Flash, has been banned without pay for violating substance-abuse and PED (performance-enhancing drugs) policies, the team tweeted on Monday (December 16).

Josh Gordon has dealt with substance-abuse issues since he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, USA Today reports. This marks the third indefinite suspension against him.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll stated in a news conference that he was “not aware there was anything to be concerned about. … I learned today it was coming. Heart goes out to Josh having to face this again. Fortunately, he’ll have the benefit of all the league’s resources to help him. Very unfortunate.”
