Jennifer Lopez & Shakira Will Honor Kobe Bryant During Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will pay tribute to Kobe Bryant during their 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
The 50-year-old Hustlers star and the 42-year-old “Hips Don’t Lie” singer opened up about the upcoming event during the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show Press Conference held at Hilton Miami Downtown on Thursday (January 30) in Miami.
When asked whether they would be honoring Kobe, who tragically died last Sunday in a helicopter crash, Jennifer said there will be a “heartfelt” moment (via CNN).
“We’ll all be remembering Kobe on Sunday and celebrating life and diversity in this country,” Shakira added. “I’m sure he’d be very proud to see the message we are trying to convey on stage that day.”
Jennifer also said that the show will be “packed,” sharing, “When we did the first run-through, Shakira was like, ‘That was great.’ It’s different what we do. It’s very Shakira and very Jennifer.”
Shakira said the two complement each other, while Jennifer agreed, “Two Latinas doing this in this country at this time is very empowering for us.
