Esther Scott Dead - 'Boyz n the Hood,' 'Beverly Hills, 90210' Actress Dies at 66

Esther Scott has sadly passed away at the age of 66.

The actress – known for her roles in Boyz n the Hood, Beverly Hills, 90210, Hart of Dixie, and Birth of a Nation – died at the hospital on Friday (February 14) after suffering an apparent heart attack last Tuesday at her Santa Monica, Calif., home, TMZ reports.

She was reportedly surrounded by loved ones at her time of death.

Her sister Shaun told the outlet, “She loved what she did. She would get stopped on the street often and people would recognize her — but they didn’t know her name. Hopefully now people will remember her name, her work and the contributions she gave to the entertainment industry.”

Esther appeared in around 73 films and shows since the 1980s, including Dreamgirls, Transformers, and more. She has also voiced Shodu in the Star Wars animated spin-off Ewoks.
