Sara Bareilles Had Coronavirus, But Is Now Fully Recovered

Sara Bareilles has revealed that she contracted coronavirus, but she thankfully has made a full recovery.

The Grammy-winning singer and Broadway star posted a selfie video on her Instagram Stories on Thursday afternoon (April 2) while walking around New York City.

“Just wanted to check in. I’m really quiet right now and will probably continue to be quiet. Just sort of taking all of this in and having a lot of feelings as I do,” Sara said in the clip. “I had it, just so you know. I’m fully recovered, just so you know. I am just thinking about all of the people who are walking through this really tricky time and sending a lot of love and just being really grateful for every easy breath and every day that I get to be walking around. Lots of love you guys. Take care of yourselves.”

Sara likely contracted the virus while in London and starring in the West End production of her musical Waitress. Her co-star and BFF Gavin Creel also believes he contracted the virus, but he decided not to get tested and just self-isolated instead. Several other cast members from the show also tested positive.

Sara and Gavin returned to the United States on March 15 after cutting their run in Waitress short by one week. After their impromptu final performance, all shows in London were shut down for public safety reasons.

There is a long list of celebrities who have been diagnosed with the virus now.
