A source is explaining why Kylie Jenner, whose net worth was recently revealed to be extremely high, asked fans to donate to a makeup artist’s GoFundMe.

If you don’t know, Kylie faced backlash for posting about makeup artist Samuel Rauda‘s GoFundMe to raise funds for brain surgery after a reported car accident that resulted in internal bleeding.

Fans saw that Kylie only donated $5,000, and thought that was unfair as she’s one of the richest celebrities in the world.

The insider is now sharing the backstory with Page Six.

When Kylie saw the GoFundMe originally, $6,000 of the original $10,000 requested had already been raised. So she went ahead and donated $5,000 to put the amount above the requested $10,000.

Kylie posted about the GoFundMe, and then the goal was increased from $10,000 to $120,000.

Because Kylie “brought a lot of attention to” the fundraiser, after the organizer raised the amount, it made Kylie‘s donation appear cheap.
