John Krasinski Explains The Main Reason He Agreed to Make 'A Quiet Place Part II'

The 41-year-old actor, writer, and director was joined at the event by J.J. Abrams for a Q&A that was live streamed to movie theaters around the country.

John has opened up about why he agreed to make a sequel to A Quiet Place after originally being against the idea.

“I had no intention of doing a second one,” John told Yahoo Entertainment. “I though the first one was as personal a story story as I could ever tell, and because of that, I had no idea who I would even approach a second one.”

John and his wife Emily Blunt, who stars in the movie, credit their on-screen daughter Millicent Simmonds as the reason for making a sequel.

He said, “She’s the continuation of my story. Emily feels this one is even more personal tome than the first, which is insane.”

Emily added, “When John and I first started talking about it, that was always the aim. This really should become the kids’ story, in particular Millicent‘s story. She’s not only such a powerhouse of an actress, she can carry [a movie]. She’s so arresting to watch, and we’d be continuing the idea of somebody with a disability who becomes this weapon for the world.”
