Jason Dupasquier has sadly passed away.

The Swiss motorsport racer died following a multi-car crash at the Moto3 qualifying event for the Italian Grand Prix at the age of 19, via AP on Sunday (May 30).

Following the accident between himself, Ayumu Sasaki and Jeremy Alcoba on Saturday (May 29), he received immediate medical attention “on track before being transferred by medical helicopter, in a stable state, to Careggi Hospital in Florence,” MotoGP said in a statement.

“Despite the best efforts of circuit medical staff and all those subsequently attending to the Swiss rider, the hospital has announced that Dupasquier has sadly succumbed to his injuries.”

“On behalf of the entire MotoGP family, we send our love to his team, his family, and loved ones. You will be sorely missed, Jason. Ride in peace.”

Jason Dupasquier was a multiple Swiss National champion, and he was in 10th place in the World Championship standings.

Our thoughts are with Jason’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

We have sadly lost all of these stars in 2021.
