Jennifer Lawrence announced that she would be taking a year off after starring in Red Sparrow in 2018, telling ET: “I’m going to take the next year off. I’m going to be working with this organization as a part of Represent.Us … trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level.”

“It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan [politics],” she added. “It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy.”

She went on to reprise her role as Mystique in Dark Phoenix but otherwise has not appeared in any TV or film since. She has however joined the cast of Don’t Look Up and has been spotted on set alongside her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
