'Jungle Cruise' Star Jack Whitehall Reveals He Auditioned For 'The Little Mermaid'
Before he starred in Jungle Cruise as McGregor, Jack Whitehall auditioned for The Little Mermaid, and has opened up about his odd audition for the role of Prince Eric.
Jonah Hauer-King eventually won the part opposite Halle Bailey in the title role.

While chatting with Variety, Jack detailed his audition tape and revealed that he was actually flirting with his mom off screen with the sides he was given.
He called the experience was “traumatic”, adding that he “did a self-tape where my mom [actor Hilary Gish] was the Little Mermaid…It’s really f***ed up. I was flirting with my mom. Everything about it was wrong.”
The Little Mermaid live action movie is expected to be released in 2022.
