Jessica Chastain Hits Back at 'Clickbait Headlines,' Clarifies Comments About 'Tammy Faye' Makeup

Jessica Chastain is hitting back at headlines about the comments she recently made about her makeup in the movie The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

The Oscar-nominated actress recently spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the hours-long process it took every day to transform into televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker.

Jessica mentioned in the interview, “I think for sure I’ve done some permanent damage to my skin on this.” Tons of news outlets have ran stories focused around that comment.

Some makeup artists have called out Jessica for implying that her skin was damaged while working on the film and now she’s speaking out to clarify her comments.

Jessica tweeted a new selfie on Wednesday night (August 25). She added, “The makeup artists for the Tammy Faye film are the best in the business. Don’t believe clickbait headlines misinterpreting me. They just want you to open their links. My skin hasn’t been ravaged by makeup! Rolling on the floor laughing.”

In a reply to a fan, Jessica highlighted the part of the interview where she said “I’m kidding.”

“Literally so annoying! I guess the actual words ‘I’m kidding’ don’t mean anything now a days….” Jessica said.

The Eyes of Tammy Faye will be released in theaters on September 17. Watch the trailer now!
