'Hacks' Creators Lucia Aniello & Paul Downs Reveal They're Married at the Emmy Awards 2021!
Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs made a big announcement at the 2021 Emmy Awards!
The pair took home the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for their work on the episode “There Is No Line (Pilot)” along with co-creator Jen Statsky.
During her acceptance speech, Lucia revealed that she and Paul had tied the knot the week earlier.

“Thank you to my parents, to my friends, to my co-creator, Jen. I love you,” she began. “To Paul. I’m in love with you, which is why I married you last weekend.”
The room erupted into applause as Lucia joked that she “would love to just say my vows again,” before the prompter told her to wrap it up.
She closed her speech with, “Thank you to everyone at HBO, everybody at Universal and I love everyone. Okay, that’s it. Thank you so much.”
Hacks was nominated for five additional awards at the event, with stars Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Jane Adams all getting nods for their work on the show. The show also earned a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series.
