Pascale Hutton & Kavan Smith Reveal When Lee Will Find Out About Rosemary's Pregnancy on 'When Calls The Heart'

It looks like it’s official – Rosemary is pregnant on When Calls The Heart!

Following the reveal on the Sunday night (May 8) episode on Hallmark Channel, stars Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the long time coming storyline for the couple – and more importantly just when Lee will find out.

“I think it was a no-brainer,” Kavan shared about the duo expanding their family at this moment in the show. “It had to happen at some point, and I’m actually kind of glad that we waited so long because I think it is a struggle for a lot of people.”

He added, “I kind of liked that they had to go through this fire first, but really, this is all Pascale. She made this happen. She was not going to let it go.”

Pascale teamed up with one of the writers to bring the storyline to life on the series, and she added that the moment Lee finds out about Rosemary’s pregnancy is one fans will very much enjoy.

“I think what it does is, it builds that suspense, and then it’s such an amazing, cathartic moment when [Lee] does find out, and that, I think, that’s really special,” she teased.

Kavan said that at first, he was very much into making it a big ordeal for Lee and Rosemary, but in the end, it turned out to be a small, more significant moment between the two.

“I was like, ‘Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! No, no, no! It has to be big. It has to be special,’ and keeping it from him, I thought that that would take away from that, but it didn’t. In the end, I love how it comes about. I love where we are. It’s very intimate, just the two of us, which is what I wanted, and it’s a really kind of sweet, funny moment of elation.”

Last year, the two opened up about why the couple didn’t have a child of their own yet.
