Netflix's 'Purple Hearts': Will There Be A Sequel? (Spoilers Ahead!)

As the movie draws to a conclusion, it’s revealed that Luke (Galitzine) is charged with fraud over his marriage to Cassie (Carson), and is detained by the military.

As he and Cassie both are called to trial, he makes a statement to the court where he says that he tricked Cassie into marrying him, that she didn’t know it was against the law, and takes all of the blame.

From there, Luke is sentenced to six months in prison and dishonorably discharged, and Cassie is let off without any charges.

Just before Luke is taken to military prison, Cassie’s band’s rise to fame has taken off and fans will see her opening for Florence and the Machine.

During the set, Cassie is seen singing an emotional love song for Luke, before she rushes to see him before he begins his sentence. It’s there that she delivers a big romantic speech to Luke, tells him she loves him and promises to wait for him. Luke gives her his wedding ring, and tells her to take care of it, “because it’s real now.”

While fans still might have hope for a sequel to Purple Hearts, future moments in Cassie and Luke’s relationship are seen over the ending credits.
