Will Camilla Become Queen? Here's What to Know About King Charles' Wife & Her Title

Back when the couple married, it was announced she would not be known as queen when he became king, but as “princess consort,” via the Washington Post.

There was plenty of uncertainty for years after that, with many not knowing if that would truly be her title.

But in a statement marking the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne earlier in 2022, Queen Elizabeth herself said she wanted Camilla to be known as “queen consort” when Charles became king.

“And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that times comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” she said in February.

At the same time, it was just revealed that Prince Harry and Kate Middleton‘s titles changed.
