Here's Why King Charles Didn't Sing 'God Save The King' At Queen Elizabeth's Funeral, Seen Crying While Song Played

King Charles and Queen Elizabeth together

King Charles didn’t sing “God Save The King” due to tradition, according to People. The publication noted that the national anthem is technically sung to the ruler so he was not supposed to sing along.

In fact, the anthem was “God Save The Queen” while Queen Elizabeth ruled.

Entertainment Tonight also noted that King Charles became visibly emotional during the anthem. He and his siblings Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew appeared otherwise stoic and were photographed together outside the funeral.

In case you missed it, the King left a message for his mother on her coffin. Find out what it said here.
