Joni Mitchell to Headline Her First Concert in Over Two Decades!

On Wednesday (October 19), it was announced that the 78-year-old entertainer will be performing her first headlining concert in over 23 years.

Joni‘s close friend and frequent collaborator Brandi Carlile appeared on The Daily Show to announce Joni will be performing at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington in June 2023.

Brandi, 41, will be playing another Echoes Through The Canyon show on June 9, 2023, following the same event she organized last year.

Then on June 10, Joni and the Joni Jam – backup band with a lineup that will be announced later – will headline a concert.

If you didn’t know, Joni suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015 and has stayed mostly out of the public eye for the past several years.

However in July, Joni made a surprise performance at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival, and ever since then, Joni has been itching to get back on stage.

“After Newport, Joni said ‘I want to do another show.’ She said ‘I want to play again,’” Brandi told Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
