Harry Potter's Leslie Phillips Passes Away at 98

Leslie Phillips, who was known for his work in the Harry Potter franchise, has sadly passed away at the age of 98.

His agent confirmed the news to Deadline and added that he passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday (November 7).

He had been “struggling with a long illness.”

You may recognize him from the Harry Potter films, but only his voice. He voiced the role of the Sorting Hat.

Throughout his career, he earned a BAFTA for his role in Hanif Kurieshi’s 2006 film Venus, in which he starred opposite to Peter O’Toole. You also might recognize him from the Angelina Jolie movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
