Kuwait Cuts Michaela Coel & Florence Kasumba Forehead Kiss From 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'

A scene from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was cut from the movie in Kuwait.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the scene in question involved Michaela Coel‘s character Aneka and Florence Kasumba‘s Ayo.

The outlet reports that the Middle Eastern country cut out the short, affectionate scene between the characters.

The scene, which lasts just about 10 seconds, sees Aneka kissing Ayo on the forehead.

Censors also requested that another scene, in which a woman gives birth to a child and the line, “A god to his people”, be cut as well.

Kuwait was the only country in the Gulf region to cut out the scenes in the newest Marvel movie. The screening has remained unedited in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.

The news comes after Michaela revealed that the reason why she took on the role of Aneka was because the character was gay.
