William Shatner On 'Star Trek' Co-Stars Comments About Him: 'These People Are Bitter'

William Shatner is opening up about the less than stellar comments about him from his former co-stars on Star Trek.

While promoting his new book, “Boldly Go, Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder”, the 90-year-old actor opened up about a certain passage in it where he reveals that his former co-stars had found him cold and arrogant on the set.

In a new interview, William says that them bringing his name into conversations now is like a “sickness”.

William says that after he was alerted by the late Uhura actor Nichelle Nichols about what the cast though of him, he was “horrified to learn this, ashamed that I hadn’t realized it.”

George Takei, William noted, has been particularly judgemental of his movements and life since the end of Star Trek.

“I began to understand that they were doing it for publicity,” William told The Times UK. “Sixty years after some incident they are still on that track. Don’t you think that’s a little weird? It’s like a sickness. George has never stopped blackening my name. These people are bitter and embittered. I have run out of patience with them. Why give credence to people consumed by envy and hate?”

Late last year, George took to social media to slam William‘s decision to go to space. While William admitted it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, he didn’t regret it.
