Here's How 'GMA' Addressed T.J. Holmes & Amy Robach's Absence On-Air

Viewers didn’t find T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach on Good Morning America‘s GMA3 spinoff on Monday (December 5).

While the series announcer announced the pair, as well as Dr. Jennifer Ashton as usual, temporary co-hosts Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez were seated at the desk instead.

Stephanie then briefly addressed the usual pair’s absence from the show.

“Welcome everybody to what you need to know on this Monday,” she said.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have the day off.”

Gio then added: “We are so glad you are here with us to begin this brand new week here on GMA3, and we are tracking so much.”

If you didn’t know, it was confirmed that the duo will be temporarily filling in as co-anchors following the shocking revelation that T.J. and Amy were reportedly in a romantic relationship while both still legally married.

It’s unclear how long the two will hold the positions for, and whether T.J. and Amy will return.

A source told People that the decision to put the couple on hiatus was announced during a routine staff call on Monday (December 5) led by ABC News President Kim Godwin.

A second source said: “GMA decided to have a period of cooling down, because they thought this was unwanted attention so, for the time being, they’re going to be off the air.”
