AJ McLean Supports Nick Carter Amid Sexual Battery Lawsuit, Says All of Backstreet Boys are In His Corner

Nick Carter can count on the support of the rest of the Backstreet Boys as he prepares for a sexual battery lawsuit, at least according to AJ McLean.

Earlier this month the 42-year-old musician faced legal accusations after Shannan “Shay” Ruth filed a lawsuit alleging that Nick gave her alcohol and sexually assaulted her after a concert in 2001.

In the aftermath of the allegations, the Backstreet Boys had a planned holiday special pulled by ABC. They did perform during iHeartRadio Z100′s Jingle Ball 2022. However, they were not shown on Z’100s social media in the aftermath.

Despite the ways that the lawsuit are negatively impacting the group, AJ made it clear that they are rallying together.

When approached by TMZ, AJ emphasized that the group was standing by Nick.

“Listen man, it’s an ongoing legal thing and we all stand behind Nick. We all fully support him, and we love him,” he said.

“He’s doing as good as he can,” he said about Nick, noting that the band “couldn’t be more solid.”

Sources close to Nick have reacted to the lawsuit.
