“Did you feel passionately about acting when you were young?” Michelle, 42, asked. “Because we both started so incredibly young.”

Laura, 55, responded, “I was 11. Isn’t that crazy?”

Michelle – who was 12-years-old when she first started acting – then said, “It’s crazy when you think about your own children, and you think about them being in these environments. And you’re like, ‘Well, no. Not in a million years.’”

Laura went on to say that her daughter Jaya, 18, is interested in acting, but Laura wants her to wait.

“I’ve always thought about childhood as being this really fertile time that, if it’s done correctly, you can keep drawing from it your whole entire life,” Michelle explained. “There was a very short period in my childhood that I feel that way about; it’s my childhood in Montana and the feeling of freedom.”

Along with Jaya, Laura also shares son Ellery, 21, with ex-husband Ben Harper.

Michelle just recently gave birth to her second child with husband Thomas Kail. The two are also parents 2-year-old son Hart while Michelle shares 17-year-old daughter Matilda with late partner Heath Ledger.
