Firefly Lane's Ben Lawson Gives a Look at Life on Set Through His Personal Photo Diary (Exclusive)

Ben Lawson: “The KPOC News team! This was either day 1 or 2 of shooting season 2. Photo is being taken by our excellent producing director Michael Spiller.”

BL: “Johnny on ecstasy. For these scenes we wore contact lenses to make it look like our pupils were dilated. This technique only narrowly beat out the other option which was to just take ecstasy.”

BL: “This is the scene where Sean comes out to his parents. There were a lot of dinner scenes this season – they take a long time to shoot mainly because the cast like to chat.”

BL: “My work wife Sarah Chalke on the balcony of Kate and Johnny’s house. We spent so many days here that we eventually stopped watching the sunsets.”

BL: “Ignacio would do whatever he could to make my chair unsittable.”

BL: “This is the day we shot Johnny getting blown up in Iraq. My friend Fiona Gubelmann was shooting The Good Doctor on the stage next to us so I went over to say hi. The prognosis was not good.”

BL: “Kate and Johnny rolling balls. I’d put one of Sarah’s leg warmers on my arm because that seems like a normal thing that could happen while you’re high.”

BL: “Me doing final touches on Chelah. What can I say, I’m a renaissance man.”

BL: “Best friends on set and off, Ali and Roan… with Chelah Horsdal keeping an ever watchful eye.”

BL: “Here’s my makeup artist Kate and Ali Skovbye showing me the respect I deserve (with shoutout to my dog Mochi in the fine print).”

BL: “The KPOC news team looking as 80s as ever.”

BL: “There’s a scene where Johnny professes his love for Kate in the rain and we of course shot it during the Vancouver winter. Here’s me between takes trying not to get pneumonia.”
