Chris Harrison Didn't Eat, Didn't Sleep & Was 'Scared To Death' After 'The Bachelor' Exit

Chris Harrison is opening up about his exit from The Bachelor in the first few episodes of his new podcast, The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever…With Chris Harrison.

The new podcast launched this week with two episodes that also feature his fiancee Lauren Zima.

In those first episodes, Chris details the drama surrounding his exit from the hit ABC reality dating program, and what happened after.

If you’re not aware, Chris was let go from his hosting duties on the program after he defended Rachael Kirkconnell for attending a “plantation-style” sorority party.

“The way I did it [the apology], it was messy, it was disappointing and it’s just not me,” Chris recalled. “My apology was warranted because I did misstep and I made a mistake.”

He added that he was heartbroken over the controversy.

“I was embarrassed. I was mad at myself. I was disappointed in myself,” he says. “The last thing in the world I ever wanted to do was be an agent of anything negative — whether it had to do with race or anything.”

Chris went on, saying that “things spun out of control for a number of reasons and I was sick, sick to my stomach. I lost 20 pounds. I didn’t sleep. I didn’t eat. I was scared to death… It was just one gut-punch after the other, and mentally and physically I deteriorated pretty bad.”

He also revealed that he and Lauren were essentially stuck in their home as paparazzi had camped out on their front lawn, and to go anywhere, he escaped through the neighbor’s yard.

“There were people parked outside of my house for weeks, following me everywhere we went,” Chris shared. “I would sneak down the hill of my house through my neighbor’s backyard and my buddy would pick me up.”
