Adam Lambert Criticizes the Idea of Theo James Being Cast as George Michael

Adam Lambert isn’t so pleased with reports of Theo James‘ potential next casting.

It was recently reported that the 38-year-old The White Lotus star is being considered for the role of gay icon George Michael in an upcoming biopic about the late Wham! singer.

“Oh yeah, I would love that. He’s a lot of Greek, and I’m a lot of Greek. Put that Greek together, and you get falafel,” Theo recently said on a Watch What Happens Live appearance of the potential casting.

When The Advocate posted about the news on Instagram, Adam responded.

“Yay another straight man playing a gay icon. 🙄,” he sarcastically commented on the post, which garnered over 700 likes.

To his point, Rami Malek recently played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, while Taron Egerton just played Elton John in Rocketman.
