Nikki Bella & Artem Chigvintsev's Son Matteo Missed Their Wedding

Someone very important to Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev missed their big day.

The 39-year-old Total Bellas star and the 40-year-old Dancing with the Stars pro married in front of loved ones in Paris back in August 2022.

However, their 2-year-old son Matteo hasn’t able to attend the ceremony, even though he was supposed to be the ring bearer.

“He was throwing up,” Nikki shared with E! News, adding that she and Artem didn’t know their son was sick until they were already at the altar.

“‘The Nutcracker’ plays, and we’re like looking down the aisle, and I’m like, ‘Where is he?’” Nikki recalled.

Nikki said that her brother, JJ Garcia, then put his hand on her and said, “‘Here’s the rings. Matteo’s vomiting. Just, you know, continue to get married.’”

Bella said that she instantly “turned white” when she found out.

“[Artem and I] both don’t even remember the ring part because we both kept looking at each other like, ‘Are we terrible parents? Like, putting our rings on, and we were just told our son is vomiting in the back?’” Nikki remembered thinking.

Afterwards, Nikki made sure that someone took Matteo “back to the hotel,” adding that he “ended up being OK,” but she’s still “sad” they “don’t have that moment.”

Artem jokingly added that Matteo must have gotten “too excited” about his ring bearer duties.
