Here's How 2019 Movie 'I See You' Went to #1 on Netflix This Week!

The number one movie on Netflix right now is a 2019 thriller called I See You and fans have been taking to social media to express their love for the film.

The movie was originally released in December 2019, but sadly didn’t get that much attention at the time. After being added to Netflix last week, lots of people have discovered the indie film all thanks to a TikTok video that currently has over 12 million views.

The TikTok page TheWeekendWatch posted a video recommending I See You and it has gone viral.

“If you open up Netflix today and see this, hit play. Trust me. You want to watch this,” the host says in the video from March 22.

She continues, “Two things. It’s not new. It came out in 2019, but it was released today on Netflix… and it’s also not scary. Don’t let the poster and the description fool you. It’s not scary at all. It’s a psychological thriller and it is a must watch. Trust me on this!”

Fans clearly listened to the recommendation as the movie has been number one for the past few days.

So, what is the film about? Here’s the official synopsis: “As he searches for a missing child, a small-town detective uncovers a malicious presence lurking in the crevices of his family’s already broken home.”

The movie stars Helen Hunt, Jon Tenney, Judah Lewis, and Owen Teague and it was written by Dexter and Nope actor Devon Graye.
