Mayim Bialik Stands with Striking Writers, Will Not Host 'Jeopardy!' During Final Week of Season 39

Mayim Bialik is ending her hosting run a bit early for the current season of Jeopardy!.

The 47-year-old actress and neuroscientist, who trades shifts with co-host Ken Jennings, has left the season early as she shows her support to the Jeopardy! writers as part of the ongoing WGA strike.

According to Deadline, Mayim‘s hosting run was set to go until the end of July.

As many fans now know that the show tapes 5 episodes per day, episodes already been taped for the show to go on that long.

However, Mayim will not be the host for the final week of the season, and Ken will be stepping back in.

The final episodes for season 29 are bring taped next week in Culver City.

Mayim stepped away from the show in order to show her solidarity with the writers of the show – including Michele Loud, Jim Rhine and Billy Wisse, and many others – as they protest their labor dispute.

While Jeopardy hasn’t shut down completely, many other shows have.
