'Sleepy Hollow' Stars Nicole Beharie & Tom Mison Allegedly Disliked Each Other So Much That An Iconic Show Moment Was Created, According to New Book

Maureen Ryan‘s new book, “Burn It Down”, is not only shedding light on the past toxic environment of Lost, but also bringing up an alleged feud between Sleepy Hollow stars Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison.

In the explosive new book, it’s reported that Tom even came up with an iconic show moment so he and Nicole would not have to touch each other during filming.

In the excerpt, which was shared on The Hollywood Reporter, it’s revealed that while Nicole and Tom, who played detective Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane, had good on-screen chemistry, it was definitely lacking off screen.

A source close to the show said that Tom and Nicole “did not want to have a whole lot to do with each other” and tension was so high between them that the bow that Tom does as Ichabod to leave a scene, was created so they didn’t have to even touch or hug each other.

Showrunner Clifton Campbell then told Maureen that both stars “believed that the relationship between the characters should not evolve into a romantic relationship” even if fans were in support of one.

Another report about the show says that there was tension between Nicole and co-creator/director Len Wiseman to the point that Lyndie Greenwood was brought in as a possible replacement for her.

Lyndie went on to play her sister, Jenny, in the show.

More sources from the show also spoke about how the people in power did not have “good” experiences with Nicole in particular, and that claim then spread to others who did not work with her at all.

Orlando Jones says it was a “double standard” situation.

“Especially if that person is a woman and a woman of color — those are two groups that already have challenges to begin with,” the source added. “It created a very us-against-her environment from day one.”

Another source also stated that Tom was referred to as “a handful”: “He had his own set of issues. I’ve always said that on any other show, he would’ve been the biggest problem.”

In a previous interview, Nicole opened up about her time on Sleepy Hollow and revealed she felt blacklisted after her exit.

Sleepy Hollow ran for 4 seasons from 2013 to 2017 on Fox.
