Zazie Beetz Gushes Over Working with Lady Gaga on 'Joker' Sequel 'Folie a Deux'

Zazie Beetz is talking Joker 2!

In a new interview, the 32-year-old actress – who is reprising her role as Sophie Dumond for Joker: Folie à Deux – shared some new insight about the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix-led project and teased that “people will be surprised” by the movie’s musical aspects.

“I don’t think it’s going to be what they expect, around it being musical,” Zazie shared with Variety. “We all sort of express musically and dancing in our lives day-to-day. I think it’s going to work really well.”

Also in the interview, Zazie talked about working with Lady Gaga, who will be starring as Harley Quinn in Folie à Deux.

“She’s super warm and kind,” Zazie said of Gaga. “I felt very welcome with her on set. She was doing her own character work and stuff, but she’s a very grounded person. She’s just Stefani.”

Production for the upcoming sequel wrapped this past April, and director Todd Phillips shared new photos of Joaquin and Gaga in character as the Joker and Harley Quinn!

Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.
