Kanoa Goo Recalls Throwing Shrimp Tails at Taylor Cole While Filming Hallmark Channel's 'Aloha Heart' & Shares His Hawaii Travel Tips! (Exclusive)

DESCRIPTION

ON AAPI REPRESENTATION IN THE FILM:

Kanoa opened up first about taking on the lead role, which was a first for Hallmark Channel in having a “local dude from Hawaii” as the male lead.

“In a story that is inherently about Hawaii and its culture, I know that they’ve done a few other films that take place in Hawaii, but I think this one focuses on Hawaiian culture a bit more, and the importance of taking care of the land. That’s a priority for a lot of people from there.”

He also appreciated the network employing not just local actors on screen, but behind the scenes as well.

“I think it’s so nice that they did a lot of the casting locally and provided that opportunity for a lot of local actors,” Kanoa shared. “Just knowing that I would be the male lead in a movie like this, which I think is a bit more rare in the space, until now is a cool opportunity.”
