Pedro Pascal Was Almost Cast In A Major Role on 'Vampire Diaries' Spinoff 'The Originals'

Before he was Joel on The Last of Us, and way before he was The Mandalorian, Pedro auditioned for the role of Marcel, the frenemy to Joseph Morgan‘s Klaus on the popular CW series.

Marcel was played by Charles Michael Davis.

“He didn’t get the part,” Paul told Michael Rosenbaum on his podcast. “By the way, he’s a wonderful actor.”

He added that he sometimes has to think about “‘What if Pedro Pascal got The Vampire Diaries spinoff?’”

TVD and The Originals creator Julie Plec has spoken about Pedro auditioning for the role before.

She told Entertainment Weekly that she was “in full Pedro Pascal fan girl mode and was just like, ‘Oh my God, he’s so great.’ But Charles, like, I mean, ‘I am the king,’ right? He just had that swagger.”

While Pedro didn’t get this part, he did appear on another vampire show.
