Barbara Walter‘s last words have been revealed just over eight months after she passed away at the age of 93 in December 2022.

The trailblazing broadcaster and founder of The View‘s death was confirmed by ABC News, the network that Barbara worked at. Shortly after her death, tributes from former co-stars started pouring in.

A forthcoming memoir titled The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters includes some details about her final moments.

The memoir is due out in April 2024 and was written by Susan Page of USA Today. A report by Axios included exclusive details about the project.

Most importantly, Barbara‘s final resting place and final words were revealed. The broadcaster was laid to rest at Lakeside Memorial Park in Miami, Florida “as she had wished,” according to Susan. Her last words – “No regrets — I had a great life” – were written on her tombstone.

Back in December Oprah Winfrey paid Barbara a lofty compliment in a tribute.
