Drew Barrymore Is Pausing Her Show's Premiere Amid Backlash

Drew Barrymore is issuing a new statement.

After posting and deleting an emotional video message about her decision to bring her show back amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood, the 48-year-old The Drew Barrymore Show host is now pausing production amid much backlash and criticism.

“I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” she began in a statement posted to her social media Sunday (September 17).

“I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.”

Drew also just lost out on a job opportunity because of her decision to continue the talk show.

Prior to this announcement, CBS spoke out about resuming production on the show, standing by Drew‘s side in the decision.
