Drew Barrymore Calls Reneé Rapp Her 'Protector' After the Singer Helped Save Her From a Stalker

Drew Barrymore is praising Reneé Rapp for protecting her!

Back in August 2023, the 48-year-old talk show host and the 24-year-old Mean Girls actress were discussing Reneé‘s album Snow Angel at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

In the middle of their conversation, a man attempted to come up on stage and talk to Drew before security stepped in. As soon as he approached, Reneé swiftly stood up and led Drew away from the situation.

When Reneé appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday (January 12), Drew took a moment to acknowledge the incident.

Drew Barrymore Doesn't Address Strike Controversy During Season 4 Premiere

Drew Barrymore‘s show is back, and she’s not discussing her controversial start-stop decision to return to daytime TV amid the strikes.

The host and actress sat down with Shania Twain on her first episode back after the WGA strike ended, via THR.

Drew Barrymore is issuing a new statement.

After posting and deleting an emotional video message about her decision to bring her show back amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood, the 48-year-old The Drew Barrymore Show host is now pausing production amid much backlash and criticism.

“I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” she began in a statement posted to her social media Sunday (September 17).

CBS Defends Drew Barrymore's Decision to Continue Talk Show Amid Writers Strike

The Drew Barrymore Show producer CBS Media Ventures has released a statement in response to the backlash that both the show and the host Drew Barrymore have been receiving this week.

Fans have not been pleased with Drew‘s decision to resume production on the daytime talk show amid the writers strike. The SAG-AFTRA strike is not a factor in the decision as the show is covered by the special “Network Code,” which allows Drew to serve as the host. But, the show must proceed without any writers until the WGA strike is over.

Drew just released a tearful apology video in which she addresses the backlash and owns up to the decision.

Now, CBS is defending Drew.

The 48-year-old The Drew Barrymore Show host was reportedly unaware that two fans in attendance at Monday’s (September 11) taping were removed for wearing WGA pins amid the Hollywood strikes demanding fair wages and better working conditions.

The removal of audience members Dominic Turiczek and Cassidy Carter was blamed on “heightened security concerns,” via The Wrap.
