HBO Renews 11 TV Shows in 2023, Cancels 6 More & Announces 8 Are Ending

Gossip Girl – CANCELLED AFTER 2 SEASONS (Max)

The Gossip Girl reboot was unfortunately canceled after only two seasons.

Here is the official logline of season 2: It’s the second semester of Junior year, and Gossip Girl is leaving no stone unturned in her effort to control the scandalous lives/spin the scandalous lies of Manhattan’s elite. She’s learned a thing or two from her first go-round — namely what her audience wants, they shall get. It’s time for her to turn the heat up on what’s been simmering (Julien, have you met Monet?) as well as look at her own impact, and how she can make it more catastrophic than it was before. Even if that means lying to do it. Old enemies, new allies, constantly shifting sands — this semester, there can only be one queen, and by the end of the school year, everyone will know where the bodies are buried, and just who was holding the shovel.

Season 1 debuted in 2021 and season 2 debuted in 2022. At the time of the cancellation, creator Joshua Safran revealed he was shopping the show to other networks, but it does not appear as if anything has come from that so far.

Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, Savannah Lee Smith and Grace Duah all starred, with Michelle Trachtenberg acting as a guest star.

Titans – ENDING WITH SEASON 4 (Max)

Announcement: January 25, 2023

HBO Max announced that Titans‘ fourth season would be its last on the streamer.

Here’s the logline for the show: Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they reunite with old friends and face new threats.

The show starred Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Conor Leslie, Curran Walters and Joshua Orpin.

Season four aired from November 3, 2022-May 11, 2023, though there was a break in between.
