Former Boys Planet contestant Winnie of NINE.i has sadly left the group, as of January 28. In addition to penning his own personal letter to fans, the agency, First One Entertainment, addressed the reasoning.

“This is First One Entertainment. We would like to inform you about NINE.i Winnie, who was on hiatus due to an injury,” the company began in a statement.

“Winnie was diagnosed with a shoulder muscle rupture in April of last year and has been consistently and faithfully undergoing exercise and rehabilitation treatment to fully recover. However, based on the opinion of the medical staff that there is a high possibility of recurrence of the ruptured shoulder muscle if excessive choreography is performed, we had an in-depth discussion with the company for a long time about the direction of future activities, and the activities as NINE.i, which requires continuous choreography, are coming to an end. It was decided that Winnie plans to take some time to focus more on recovering his health and then show off his various sides through individual activities,” they said in a translated statement.
