Every Star Who Came Out as LGBTQ+ in 2024 (So Far!)
The 41-year-old actress and filmmaker revealed that she’s queer on the red carpet at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards, along with revealing her new romance with nonbinary partner Sammi Cohen following her divorce.
“I’m here, I’m queer, I have some fear but I’m working through it,” she said.
The 41-year-old Survivor winner took to social media just on the brink of New Year’s Eve to come out as queer, hard-launching a new relationship with her partner Mae Martin.
“We’re queer. Happy new year ❤️🌈,” she wrote in the accompanying caption.
“My journey is very different than most people who are out. We’ve been dating since March and our relationship has moved forward really beautifully. I’m super happy,” she told The Advocate in January.
The 42-year-old star of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4 came out as trans on social media in January.
“It’s something I’ve been pondering for myself for years,” she told EW, explaining that she’ll now go by the name Cassie (short for Cassandra) out of drag, and in drag she’ll perform as Madame Cassandra Uzumaki LaQueer.
“It’s now or never. I think this serves for me to be a voice for those that have persuaded themselves into not pursuing their truths and let time take over. It’s never too late to come out and live your true experience and be yourself and be authentic. There’s nothing like feeling loved in your own skin.”
