Neil Patrick Harris wasn’t holding back while live-tweeting the 2018 Tony Awards!

Following a diss about Rachel Bloom‘s backstage performances, the 44-year-old former How I Met Your Mother star also shared his thoughts about Bruce Springsteen winning the American Theatre Wing’s Special Tony Award for Springsteen on Broadway.

“How was @thealexnewell not nominated for a Tony? @springsteen won, and he uses teleprompters. I don’t get the logic… #livetweetingtheTonys,” he wrote.

When a fan expressed her thoughts about the 68-year-old music icon’s performance, Neil went further: “Seriously? Miking Actors isn’t because they can’t project, it’s for creating a proper sound mix. Using a teleprompter is just not being willing to memorize your lines. The director should have said something. Oh wait.”

Jessie Mueller and Joshua Henry hit the red carpet at the 2018 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 10) in New York City.

The two Carousel co-stars were joined by Jessie‘s partner Andy Truschinski and Joshua‘s wife Cathryn Stringer. They were nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical and Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, respectively. The awards went to the stars of The Band’s Visit.

During the show, Joshua and his male co-stars performed “Blow High, Blow Low.”

Neil Patrick Harris made a comment about “the woman in the top hat backstage” while watching the 2018 Tony Awards – and so, she responded!

The woman in reference was Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom, who was conducting interviews backstage throughout the evening’s broadcast.

Neil seemingly didn’t care for her interviews: “Who is the woman in the top hat backstage at The Tony Awards? Gideon remarked that she says ‘like’ and ‘oh my god’ a lot. I’m confused…” Neil wrote on Twitter.

Rachel replied: “I’m a big fan of yours. We’ve met numerous times and my husband, Dan Gregor, wrote for How I Met Your Mother for 5 years. Notably, he wrote the episode where your character finally meets his father.”

“Indeed! Well said. Thanks for the reminder. How was backstage?” he responded.

Hailey Kilgore looks beautiful while walking the red carpet at the 2018 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 10) in New York City.

The 19-year-old actress is at the Tonys for the first time and she was nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work in Once On This Island.

The musical, which was up for eight awards, went home with the top award – Best Revival of a Musical.
