Cillian Murphy Joins 'A Quiet Place' Sequel Cast!

Cillian Murphy has joined the cast of the upcoming A Quiet Place sequel!

Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds are all set to return for the upcoming film while John Krasinski will write and direct the movie again.

THR reports that Cillian “will play a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.”

The first A Quiet Place movie earned $340 million worldwide and only cost $17 million to make. The sequel is scheduled to be released on May 15, 2020.

Cillian is best known for his work in Peaky Blinders, Dunkirk, and in The Dark Knight trilogy.

John Krasinski Is Returning to Direct 'A Quiet Place' Sequel!

John Krasinski is directing the sequel to A Quiet Place, and he’s just teased fans with a new post!

“…time to go back. #PartII 5-15-20,” John wrote on his Instagram on Friday (February 22), captioning a picture from the first movie and confirming the release date of May 15, 2020.

“This is a world you can play in, this isn’t just a character to remake…it’s actually a world, which is a whole different, very unique experience. It’s not like Alien or Jaws where the main villain is the thing you’re repeating; it’s an actual entire set of rules and the circumstance that the world has undergone that you can play in very different facets,” John said of brainstorming ideas for the follow-up late last year.

The original, which co-starred wife Emily Blunt, is about a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing.

The upcoming sequel to the 2018 hit movie will be released on May 15, 2020, the studio announced on Wednesday (August 29).

The first movie was released back in March, and became the No. 1 movie at the box office for three consecutive weeks.

Plot details are still unknown, although the first movie’s co-screenwriters have already teased their thought process.

“There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out in Word documents on our computers,” co-screenwriters Bryan Woods and Scott Beck told IndieWire in April.

“So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell. It’s just really, at the end of the day, who are the characters in this, and what does this situation mean to that dynamic?”

The show parodied John Krasinski and Emily Blunt‘s movie, A Quiet Place, and turned it into “A Kanye Place.”

In the parody, Donald Glover points out to his group of friends that Kanye said he would have voted for Trump, but the catch is that they can’t make a sound or they risk being attacked by the monsters.

Later, they point out that Kanye was in attendance at Chrissy Teigen‘s baby shower. In a particularly funny moment, Donald says, “Guess who was at the baby shower…Jesse. Tyler. Ferguson.”

'A Quiet Place' Is Getting a Sequel!

Get ready to see another installment of A Quiet Place!

Paramount will be making a sequel to the hit John Krasinski and Emily Blunt co-starring horror movie, according to studio chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos on Wednesday (April 25) at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

“If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from The Office would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said well, I should go work at Paramount,’” he said according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A release date has not yet been announced.

'A Quiet Place' Wins Weekend Box Office Again!

A Quiet Place is back on top of the weekend box office!

The John Krasinski and Emily Blunt-starrer brought in an addition $22 million this weekend, it its third week at the box office.

The Rock‘s Rampage came in second place this weekend, just behind A Quiet Place with $21 million earned.

Amy Schumer‘s I Feel Pretty came in third place at the weekend box office in its opening weekend. The film earned $16.2 million.

Super Troopers 2, also in its debut weekend, earned $14.7 million, good enough for fourth place.

Rounding out the top five was Truth or Dare, which earned $7.9 million.

A Quiet Place, John Krasinski‘s new movie that stars himself and wife Emily Blunt, made $50 million at the box office this weekend in its opening weekend debut!

The movie came in first place and has earned rave reviews.

Ready Player One came in second at the box office this weekend, earning an estimated $25 million.

New film Blockers, starring John Cena, came in third place at the box office and earned $21.4 million.

Rounding out the top five were Black Panther and I Can Only Imagine, which brought in $8.4 and $8.3 respectively.
