Check out the trailer for Oscar-winner Dustin Lance Black‘s new film, Virginia, starring Jennifer Connelly.

The 41-year-old actress takes on the title role as a single mother struggling to raise her son Emmett (Harrison Gilbertson) while longing to escape from her small Southern boardwalk town. Things get complicated when her married lover, Mormon Sheriff Richard Tipton (Ed Harris) decides to run for public office, and Emmett begins a romantic relationship with Tipton’s daughter (Emma Roberts). The film opens in theaters May 18.

Jennifer Connelly carries her adorable daughter Agnes while out for a walk with hubby Paul Bettany on Tuesday (October 11) in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood.

“People think we’re such a Hollywood couple and they say, ‘Goodness, they’ve been together for eight years,’ which in Hollywood terms is about 40 years, like dog years,” the 40-year-old British actor recently said in an interview.

As for how the two make their relationship work with such busy film schedules, Paul added, “You’ve got to make sacrifices. Rather than ride roughshod, we have to listen.”

During a recent interview with U.K.’s The Guardian, Paul was about to turn off his iPhone before he told the reporter, “Oh no, I shouldn’t turn this off. Don’t judge me.”

“I have a very small baby,” he explained. “Do you have kids? They’re great, great – the first three years they just scare the s— out of you.”
