Ariel Winter is pretty in pink alongside boyfriend Levi Meaden at the 2018 American Humane Hero Dog Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (September 29) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The longtime pair was joined by fellow couples Alex Lange and Bailee Madison, newly married Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers, and Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell.

Also in attendance were Danielle Fishel, Home & Family co-hosts Cameron Mathison and Debbie Matenopoulos, Beth Stern, Alison Sweeney, and James Denton.

The American Humane Hero Dog Awards is an “annual, nationwide competition that searches out and recognizes America’s Hero Dogs – often ordinary dogs who do extraordinary things, whether it’s saving lives on the battlefield, lending sight or hearing to a human companion, or simply providing the tail-wagging welcome a pet owner relishes at the end of a hard day.”

The program will air on Wednesday, October 24 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.

Here’s what the 40-year-old Days of Our Lives star had to share with the mag:

On tearing her ACL: “At first it was hard for me to even get out of bed�”which was good in one way, because I realized how many things I just do for my kids so we can all move on with our lives. I’m sure a lot of moms relate to Oh, it’s just easier if I get the orange juice. The first morning they brought me breakfast in bed, I was so proud. I thought, They really can do this stuff. Maybe I’m not giving them enough responsibility!”

On the police: “My husband is a cop, so my kids really respect them, but I understand that for some people there are extenuating circumstances and they don’t [trust the police]. Of the men and women who commit to being officers, the much larger percentage of them are honorable, brave people, and we should be appreciative that they are willing to risk their lives for us on a daily basis. However, as in every profession, there are going to be people who aren’t good at their jobs, don’t try hard, or are bad guys who got into it for the wrong reasons. The news emphasizes those stories. I want my kids to know that it is their responsibility to understand any situation they are dealing with comprehensively and not just listen to one side.”

On taking a break after tearing her ACL: “The whole sleep-when-you’re-dead thing? I’m over that. Before, I was always going, as though if I took a break I would never get up again. My doctor saying, ‘No, you have to do this’ gave me permission to rest. I can’t say I ever came to enjoy it, but I learned to appreciate it. If you can train yourself to take 20-minute catnaps, you’ll wake up really alert.”

The 50-year-old actress, who also serves as the 2016 Key To The Cure Ambassador, was joined by Stand Up 2 Cancer ambassador Alison Sweeney and President of Saks Fifth Avenue, Marc Metrick.

Katharine McPhee takes the stage at the 2016 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (September 10) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 32-year-old singer and actress was joined at the event by Pauley Perrette, James Denton, Bailee Madison, and Alison Sweeney, as well as businessman Robert Herjavec and his wife, ballroom dancer Kym Johnson.

Every year, the Hero Dog Awards are held to give recognition to dogs across the nation who demonstrate heroic abilities along with their owners.

Alison took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with a retired U.S. Marine Corps member and his service dog, captioning it, “Love meeting true heroes like @jasonandaxel backstage @herodogawards thank you for your service. #USMC 🇺🇸#herodogs.”

Kristen Wiig and Tom Hanks display their eagerness for beating cancer at the annual 2016 Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) Telecast held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday (September 8) in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old actress and 60-year-old actor were joined at the fundraiser by actresses Jordana Brewster, Mayim Bialik, and Alison Sweeney, as well as journalist Katie Couric and personal trainer Jillian Michaels.

Emma Stone and Anna Kendrick were also spotted having fun and and working hard at the event that night.

Alison Sweeney is not returning as the host of The Biggest Loser for the upcoming season after spending eight years with the NBC reality weight loss competition series.

The 38-year-old television personality, who is also well known for her work on Days of Our Lives, spent 13 seasons as the host of the show.

“After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season,” producers for the show told Access Hollywood in a statement.
